A Wetherspoon’s pub in Rhyl has today been forced to close it’s doors after a couple, waiting for their breakfast, spotted a rat running past their table.
The couple got up straight away and reported it to staff at the bar, they were issued a full refund before leaving the premises.
Pest control was called while they undertook their investigation, they closed the pub. No further rodent activity was found and the pub was due to open again this afternoon.
A spokesperson for Wetherspoons has said:
“We can confirm that a rodent was spotted in the pub and the manager made aware.
We are not sure where it came from and a pest control team has attended the pub.
They have not spotted any activity. The pub is currently closed and is due to open later this afternoon.
The pest control team will return tomorrow to check the pub.
We apologise to our customers for this incident.”
